Creek showing at Cannes

IonCinema.com has a review of Creek, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Its odd seeing a Joel Schmacher film in the market - with his career in a slight downturn perhaps he doesn’t command his former glory attention but his latest project Creek has got an interesting revenge plot.  Written by Dave Kajganich, the story is set in 1936, the Wollners–a German family living in rural Town Creek, Maryland–are contacted by the Third Reich to host a visiting scholar, Professor Ricard Wirth (Michael Fassbender). In need of money, they accept Wirth into their home. Wirth’s grand occult project seals the Wollners off from the rest of the world and makes them players in a horrifying game of survival. Now, in 2007, Evan Marshall’s (Henry Cavill) life has stalled at twenty-five years old. Left without answers after his older brother Victor’s (Dominic Purcell) disappearance from a camping trip near Town Creek, he has tried to move on. But when Victor returns one night, very much alive and having escaped his captors, Evan asks no questions–at his brother’s request, he loads their rifles, packs up their boat and follows him back to Town Creek on a mission of revenge that will test them in every possible way…

Rebekah Wainwright interview

I recently stumbled across an interesting interview with Rebekah Wainwright, the lovely lady who plays Henry’s wife, Catherine Brook, on The Tudors. She is asked about Henry quite a bit. You can read the entire interview at Love It, Like It, Hate It.

What was it like working on the set of The Tudors?

I feel at home on set, it feels right. Despite the very early mornings, long hours - it’s bloody hard work! The crew working on “The Tudors” are fantastic. Going to work was so much fun! Also working with such talented actors was so inspiring. Henry [Cavill] and I worked very well together. We did most of our scenes in one take.”

How does it feel to be the most envied woman on the planet for getting to film a bed scene with the world’s sexiest man Henry Cavill?

Yeah, that scene wasn’t exactly hard work!

What was it like working with Henry? Is he a good kisser?

Henry is fantastic to work with. It was great that we were able to hang out and have fun and also work really well together when we were on set. We did most of our scenes in one take, which doesn’t happen very often in the business! He’s very professional when we’re shooting, then off set he’s very funny! Is he a good kisser? I wouldn’t really know, to be honest! A screen kiss is absolutely nothing like a real kiss! You’ve got the director telling you which way to tilt your head, hair and make-up artists fixing you up, and then you’ve got a boom hovering right above your head – it’s not romantic, believe me!

Costume Institute Gala

Henry attended the “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 5. I added some MQ images to the gallery. They are either tagged or low-quality, so if you have any larger images of Henry from the event and would like to donate to the site, I would appreciate it.

Tudors 2.05 screencaps

Again our Henry was not featured much on last Sunday’s Tudors episode. The episode was one of the best so far, I think, though. 38 screencaps are in the gallery. You can view a clip from next week’s episode with Henry at the Showtime official website.

Tudors Season 3

The Tudors has been greenlit for another season! You can read more about it here.

History has repeated itself once again.  Showtime has given The Tudors a third season order just a few weeks after the show returned on the air for a sophomore run.  The drama series loosely based on the early reign of Henry VIII has significantly surged in the ratings, prompting the network to give an early renewal to the show just like it did when the network picked up the series for a second season order in the same month of its highly successful debut, which became the highest rated series premiere of the network in three years.

Meanwhile, the number of episodes has yet to be determined for the new season, which will follow the king as he weds third queen Jane Seymour (Anita Briem) and then Anne of Cleves, who is yet to be cast.

BlackBook interview

BlackBook Mag has a new, interesting article and interview with Henry. You can read the interview in its entirety here, complete with a photo from Creek. Here is a snippet.

BB: You’re currently the face of a Dunhill fragrance. Do you spend a lot of time grooming?

HC: When I go out, I tend to go out as me, and I’m very careful not to fall into that trap of feeling like you’re constantly performing. I’m Henry in real life, I’m “Dunhill Guy” for Dunhill Fragrance things, and I’m Charles Brandon on “The Tudors.” But Henry is the most important of the three, and sometimes he likes to get dressed up and sometimes he doesn’t.

BB: It’s a terrible time for young celebrity. Are you at all interested in the trappings of Hollywood nightlife?

HC: I have four brothers, three of whom are much older that I am. They would kick my ass if I got too involved in the glitz and the glamour. Of course I worry, though, because I might get sent a bottle of vodka in my hotel room, or something fantastic like that, and it makes you feel wonderful. But when I get back home, I’m kind of glad to be away from it all, to be honest.
