Henry Talks “Superman” for Reelz Channel

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Reelz Channel talked to Henry about preparing for the role of Superman. The full article is at the link. Here are a few excerpts:

It’s going to be a different kind of shape. When you see the Immortals shape you’ll see what I mean. We obviously haven’t had the final brief yet, it’s going to adapt and change as far as when Mark [Twight, trainer] sees my body adapting to the training he’ll go, “Okay, Henry can do this,” or “Henry can’t do this,” or “His body will look better like that.” It’ll be fine-tuned and tweaked as we go along. But I think it’s going to be a different sort of shape from Immortals.

I mean, I’m sitting here talking…about being Superman, for example. And then it dawns on me and I go, “Oh my God, I’m Superman!” It’s really exciting and an incredible opportunity, so as soon as I’m jumping into the costume and stuff it starts to become real. … As soon as you don the cape and the S shield, it’s one of those things where you go, “Wow—this is real.”

MTV “Superman” Interview

Thank you to MTV for this new article and interview with Henry about playing Superman. Click the link to read the full article and watch a video.

Henry Cavill didn’t know quite what he was about to encounter. The mild-mannered Brit, who’d been cast as Superman in the Warner Bros. reboot of the franchise in January, found himself at WonderCon on an April day in San Francisco, about to meet the fans that may make or break the success of the upcoming film. Was he ready to stand in front of the frothing masses and stake his claim to pop culture history?

“Let’s hope so,” he told MTV News with a nervous laugh. “I better do a good job.”

For Cavill, with the passage of time came a new understanding of what it means to portray the most iconic superhero on the planet. “As much as I wanted it at a younger age, you get to a certain point where you go, ‘OK, I’m ready for most things now.’ Back then, you believe you’re ready for it,” he said. “But as soon as it happens, you think that it’s a little heavy. I’m glad it’s happening now as opposed to any other time.”

Henry Cavill: Guys Love Cuddling, Too!

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

The Tudors hunk Henry Cavill opens up to Glamour UK in their February 2010 issue!

The 26-year-old actor shared his views on what guys really want:

We love cuddling, too. Sometimes, after a big night out, you think, ‘I just want a cuddle, we can do it in the morning.’

We think a mental affair is worse. Sending dirty texts and emails is a true betrayal. Men can have an emotional detachment from sex.

We like you giving us a pet name. An ex-girlfriend called me ‘Pussycat’, but it was in Italian so it sounded better!

MTV Interview

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

You can view a video interview MTV did with Henry at Tribeca right here. The video is unavailable to those who live outside of the United States and so I am unable to view it. If someone is able to find an alternative location of the video, let me know! Henry is mostly asked about how the author of Twilight, Stephenie Meyer, really wanted him for the role of Edward Cullen.

[Henry] revealed that his star-making “casting” never made it far beyond Meyer’s lips.

“I’ve heard this, but I haven’t heard from Stephenie,” Cavill insisted, saying he’s never had any contact with the best-selling writer. “I haven’t spoken to her personally, and I haven’t spoken to the producers.”

But still, Cavill said he holds no ill will and that whenever he finds time between a busy schedule that includes “Whatever Works,” “The Tudors” and the upcoming Tarsem Singh flick “War of the Gods,” he’d like to watch Pattinson in action. “I haven’t seen it yet,” he said of the “Twilight” movie. “My brother saw it and said he loved it. I hope to check it out soon.”
