I think the US release of season 2 on DVD is December 30, so I was surprised to find out that it is coming out in Canada next week on Tuesday, November 11. They call it the “uncut” version, but I think it may be referring to the Showtime versions that have been modified for Canadian airing. I will try and get the set next week and cap any special features if there are any! You can read an article at CinemaSpy.ca.

Season Two of the acclaimed historical drama series The Tudors is to be released uncut and uncensored on DVD in Canada on November 11. The series focuses on the life of controversial English king Henry VIII. The second season is set over a seven year period from the death of the powerful Cardinal Wolsey in 1530 to the execution of Henry VIII’s second wife Anne Boleyn in 1536. It charts Henry’s attempts to annul his marriage to Katherine of Aragon and his conflict with the Catholic Church.

Henry was featured in the October 24 issue of The Evening Standard. You can read the articles and see the pictures at this website. You will need to click on the magazine name on the right, find the calendar on the top left, and select the right date. The article starts on page 48. I was wondering if anyone could send us the scans or somehow screencap the images on the site. I would appreciate it very much. You can read the whole article on this forum thread.

The 25-year-old Jerseyborn actor is impossibly polite and well-spoken. He lives in Dublin, where The Tudors is filmed, cavorting about in a codpiece for six months of the year, leaving the other half for other projects. In spring 2008 he worked on Woody Allen’s film Whatever Works, playing an English actor who has resettled in New York. ‘It’s a different scene from The Tudors. Woody Allen will do a four-page scene in one shot, which keeps it hyper-realistic. With period stuff, it takes much longer.’ Allen cast him opposite Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood. ‘I only got one scene with Larry, but what a clever, hilarious man.’

I will be so excited if this is true. I love my ancient era epics. Henry is in talks to star in one of two Ancient Greek epics in the making, War of the Gods, as the main role, Theseus. Thanks to Variety for the news.

Relativity Media is negotiating with Henry Cavill (”The Tudors”) to star as Theseus in the Tarsem Singh-directed “War of the Gods.”

At the same time, Warner Bros. is in talks with Sam Worthington to play the role of Perseus in the Louis Leterrier-directed “Clash of the Titans.”

Deals for both actors are expected to be worked out, keeping the Greek mythology-themed projects on a parallel track. Both films are expected to begin production by late winter or early spring.

The projects have different plots, but each film will be made for under $100 million because the visual effects will be accomplished using the greenscreen techniques that made “300″ so visually arresting.

I finally made screen captures of the Dunhill commercial Henry was in. You can view the 40 second commercial on Youtube.

Nothing really new, but I posted the new picture mentioned two updates ago of Henry out and about and posing for a picture in Ireland. We are working on a multimedia archive for the site at the moment, so check back often!

Henry will be appearing in LA Confidential Magazine! The photoshoot has been released and Henry looks amazing! If anyone can get us scans we’d be very grateful! Anyway, small previews of the shoot have been added to the gallery.

It’s no surprise that Henry Cavill is on everyone’s radar these days: He’s a lead in Showtime’s Emmy-nominated The Tudors and the face of Dunhill cologne, and he has two films on deck.

“I’ve been fairly unlucky in the past,” he admits, referring to his handful of almostroles, “but whether I’ve been unlucky or indeed lucky, you don’t really know.” We think his luck’s going to hold. With his cool British charm, enviable good looks, and undeniable talent, who could stop him?

ShowBiz Ireland has another Henry article. I will add the picture that is featured with it later!

When it comes to handsome devil-ness there are very few actors that can give Jonathan Rhys Meyers a run for his money. But on the set of The Tudors British actor Henry Cavill turns just as many heads as our Jonny in his swanky period garbs. The Stardust actor got-down with a bevy of models at Krystle at the weekend…

Actor Henry Cavill is a regular visitor to these shores due to his ongoing role in The Tudors. Away from the cameras he’s been spotted out partying with his co-stars, which include Joss Stone, at many a Dublin hotspot. On Saturday night the boy Henry chanced a session at VIP club Krystle, where the lovely ladies came-out in their droves. Good choice.

According to buddytv.com the season 2 DVD boxset of The Tudors will be released in December, no extra features have been confirmed yet nor has the official art work for the DVD so at least we can still hope that the DVD will have some goodies on it.

Just in time for the New Year, The Tudors is coming to DVD.  Showtime and Paramount Home Entertainment have officially announced the release date of the much anticipated season 2 DVD of the historical fiction series created and entirely written by British screenwriter Michael Hirst.

Hey guys,
I’m the new co-web =) Some new stills from The Tudors have been released thanks to Repro Images, I have added the new Henry/Charles Brandon ones to the gallery. Sadly there were not so many new ones of him.

First of all, a great big welcome to our new co-webmaster Laura. She is the owner of Admiring Natalie Dormer, Anne Boleyn from The Tudors. She has put up a lovely new layout. The rest of the site should be pieced back together soon. I apologize for the lack of updates. The site was a mess and I either needed to give the site to someone or get a co-web. I am very thankful to have settled for the latter! In other site news, I added a few set pictures from the second season of The Tudors.
